An End to Harris's Wreckage
11 November 2024 By Abiodun Kareem Giwa
There is a difference between drama and actual live events. One is accurate, and the other is not. Kamala Harris promises to end drama and conflict. Without drama and conflict, Democracy will be like a fried plantain - dried. It is like taking drama and conflict out of the human society. Has she forgotten the illegal migrant invasion is genuine and not a drama? The lousy economy under her watch is also real. The insecurity across significant cities and suburbs is not a conflict but what her policy caused. If there is any drama and conflict, it is between her and her political opponents, who want her sacked for failing.
Many people have wondered who has been in charge of the country's administration with President Joseph Biden's cognitive deficit, and now know it is Harris. She hid Biden's cognitive problems until the roof caved in her favor to pick up the ticket. She has personally proven she was the determinant for the past four years and said there is nothing new she can do differently from Biden's.
She hid from the media for a long time. When she eventually began answering media questions, she still could not articulate a clear message about what she intended to do that differed from the last four years. It means she plans to continue with the demonized migration, wobbled economy, and insecurity across the country. The reason her opponent said that if she is allowed to continue, America will be finished. She has seized on political opportunity to rise, and nothing is wrong with that. But there are lots wrong with her rise to be a presidential candidate the second after her 2020 woeful failure. She has Biden to thank for tapping her to be a vice-presidential candidate and they won the election. However, the administration's performance is a wreckage, compared to Trump's first four years.
It is the contrast between her and him. Either America continues in this unmitigated disaster or gets liberated. Curious observers say it is unconscionable for anyone to think American voters will choose to continue a journey to nowhere. Polls have shown the country is going in the wrong direction. This brings to mind the various election polls showing the two candidates' running neck to neck. Can one trust these polls? It is a difficult question. They are conducted by humans who are not apolitical at a time everyone wants own candidate to thrive.
The New York Times has its polling numbers, and Fox News also has its own. Others include the NBC/Ipso, the CNN poll, and the Trafalgar, showing Trump leading today and Harris up the next day. How reliable are the polls? Can they be seen as representing the winner and the loser? Certainly not. However, they give a sign about the candidates' performance from time to time ahead of the election.
Remember Hillary Clinton led Trump in the polls before the election and her loss. Biden was also ahead by about seven points, but Trump came closer than expected in the results. These instances are creating uncertainty in the Democratic Party campaign. The fear is if Trump is head-to-head with Harris, would that not mean he is ahead by about four points? Anyway, the election is for any candidate to win, as events have shown in the past, and the media always has a strategy of pushing its candidate forward.
But this election is a little different. People say the only comparison was with Jimmy Carter's experience in terms of poor economic performance. Biden and Harris have added the open border fiasco and insecurity in several cities and suburbs. How would an incumbent win in such a scenario? Would that mean the electorate is forgiving and careless about holding the leaders accountable?
The lack of accountability in public service has led most colleges that offer public administration to introduce statistics management to monitor public agency performance. No one even needs such a level of scholarship to see Biden and Harris's failure. Harris cannot articulate her plans to the public because her effort to use her time as a prosecutor's fight against illegal migration failed to convince listeners. She unknowing showed the world she calls the shot at the White House when she told Governor Desantis he had not called her for the hurricane needs, but the governor shot back he had spoken to Biden.
She wrecked the border security. She has turned inflation into unaffordable cake for Americans. A former prosecutor sowing the seed of insecurity across the country. She has nothing credible to offer about the economy but promises to reduce prices for all Americans and fight price gouging. She cannot maneuver out of the easy pass for criminals and the crime wave in blue states. She relies on the enthusiasm of her party's support moving forward, not her and Biden's performance in office. Her victory will be a death to accountability in the country.
It will mean anyone can enter public office, fail, and still bamboozle the electorate to retain the same position. Politicians who lack sterling performance are not worthy of a second chance. Why must she be given another chance when she has already screwed everything?
