Attack on Jesus Christ and Christians?
June 28 2020 By Abiodun Giwa
A street preacher was reportedly beaten up in Seattle's autonomous area because protesters did not understand what the preacher was saying. Before the suffering of the preacher in the hands of protesters in Seattle, protesters elsewhere in the United States in the wake of George of Floyds death wanted to tear down the statue of Jesus Christ. There has been no confirmation that statue was torn down.
But with emergence of the information of the attack on the preacher and the attempt to tear down the statute of Christ, many observers have begun to ask whether Christ and Christians are now under attack in the United States.Though, not shocking to many Christians that a preacher came under attack, because according to them, Christ himself had predicted that the world will hate his followers, and that if he was persecuted, his followers will also suffer the same fate.
However, many observers, Christians and no-Christians are alike, are taken back by the news of the alleged plans to tear down Christ's statue. And they ask questions about what Christ statue got to do with the protesters over Black Lives Matter, and whether many of the so called Black Matter leaders and protesters are not Christians.
Many Christian observers actually believe that if the protesters should touch or damage Christ's statue, it will be the end of the 'Black Lives Matter' protest and the politicians supporting them. Because according to these Christians, Christ will fight for himself. They are warning silently that the protesters can never win against Christ or against His Cross.
There is a profound shock among Americans that with the news of the said attack on Christ statue, Joe Biden has not deemed it fit to call the protesters to order, and they wonder whether Biden thinks he will continue to get the support of teeming Christ followers in the U.S, if his supporters dare attack Christ statue.
Aside from the news of the planned attack on Christ's statue, protesters had set fire on a part of Saint John Church near the White House, and another part of the Church defaced. When President Donald Trump took a Bible to the front of the Church for a photograph, he was criticized and mocked by the liberal media because they said the police used tear gas to clear protesters for him to get to the Church for a photograph.
Elections is four months away. Voters, among who are millions of Christians, would decide whether to vote for a candidate whose supporters attack the Church or a candidate who protects the Church from rioters.
