Biden: The Crown and the Debate
2 July 2024 By Abiodun Kareem Giwa
Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown, a common saying referencing President Joseph Biden's position and criticism of his performance as a president. We should remember that he had a party and an ideology that determined his policy position, such as the open border. The party wants the president to win at all costs amid performance failure. How could his supporters expect a robust debate performance when there seems to be nothing to run on? If the party removes him and fields anyone as a candidate, the person will still face the three years of the administration's lack of performance.
Some are talking about the party replacing Biden as a candidate. They are not talking about Kamala Harris taking over the mantle, which is why Biden has her as vice president as a replacement in case of his incapacitation. How can the party think they can walk over Harris to bring anyone without causing a splinter? Would Biden agree to step aside from office and not run for a second term in the middle of the race?
Some observers say he is not the decision-maker; his family members benefit from his political position. Observers close to Biden say Biden is strong-willed and uneasy to dissuade. He believes he is performing well, and many of his supporters agree. However, many do disagree and expect a more robust performance. People with this mindset think Biden must step aside for the party to succeed. The same people failed to see his lackluster from the onset. Now, the president's shortcomings are not hidden, and wanted to control the narrative. How could these supporters expect the president's robust performance at a debate when there is nothing to discuss to showcase? The open border policy is a fiasco. The same applies to his foreign policy management. The inflation in the economy is blistering. But the worst of everything is the border management. It is what he wanted, and his party approved it - making America the headquarters of Mexican Cartels, illicit drugs, and other criminals' entry here and now the threat to women's safety.
Biden lacks policy success to present. The reason he rumbled through a debate with Trump. Sadly, the Democrats and the Liberal Media had hoped for a good performance in a discussion that would be a game-changer. They failed. They want Biden out of the race, showing Lyndon Johnson's 1968 withdrawal. They forgot the vice president continued Johnson's race and lost to Republican Richard Nixon.
The Liberal media and Democrats are working to defeat Trump, and Biden's debate performance saddens them. They are still on this path they placed Biden before and after he assumed office. They wanted Trump canceled at all costs. It explains why canceling Trump's policies delighted them. But it has backfired, showing Trump's policies brighter than they have. People on the street say Trump's political competitors can call him any name; he has a better governance idea. They saw four years of government under him and three and running to four under Biden. They know better and who can best represent them.
Whoever Democrats choose to represent their party would struggle with policy issues. Would the open border continue? Would the new candidate agree to deport illegal immigrants to save policies already under the threat of extinction due to the help extended to migrants? Would Iran be allowed to keep the money that has allowed the Mullahs the finance to sponsor terror in the Middle East? Democrats must realize that sound policy formulation goes far beyond canceling an opponent's successful policies.
