Nigeria: What does Ahmed Bola Tinubu want?

He is not a recluse going by the standard of human accomplishment. He is the national leader of Nigeria's ruling party, All Progressive Congress, APC. He was twice governor of Lagos State, the most cosmopolitan State in Nigeria. His wife, Remi, is a senator of the Federal Republic. And his daughter, at a relatively young age, is (Iyaloja), the leader of Nigerian Market Women Association. She succeeded Tinubu's mother, who died a little while ago.
Many Nigerians credit Bola Tinubu for the emergence of a new ruling party, and so his political wizardry is highly praised, as having what it takes to weld together, different political group, to form the APC, which defeated the former ruling party in a presidential election, about six months ago.
Aside from crediting Bola Tinubu for the victory of the opposition party, observers say that Bola Tinubu is stupendously wealthy and that he is one of the wealthiest living Nigerians. But people also talk about the secrecy surrounding the sources of his wealth.
One major problem said that stood between Bola Tinubu and political victory before the recent APC's victory was his undemocratic method of nominating people to fill political positions. Twice, Bola Tinubu's party failed at clinching power, until his party extended hands of fellowship to other members of the opposition and the recent victory at the polls. However, his party controlled a sizable part, west of the country. In fact, one major problem the APC faced at the initial stage was how to curtail Bola Tinubu's selection of candidates for political office. Tinubu's wife, Remi, refused to shake Saraki's hand at the inauguration of senators. The party said it would do everything in its power to get the rid of Saraki. Last week, Saraki woke up and realized that he had been slammed with 13 charges of corruption arising from a wrongful declaration of assets, when he was governor about 12 years ago. He was arraigned in an Abuja court after a week long of effort by Saraki to evade arraignment, because he said his travail was the handiwork of his political enemies, who did not like his emergence as senate president in a democratic manner, and that these enemies wanted to him out at all cost.
