The are many pro-Trump protesters who have converged at the seat of government in Washington. News reports say that that these protesters have disrupted the seating of the Congress and the process to certify the electoral college results of Joseph Biden's election as president of the United States.
There are reports of violence and damages to windows of the Congress building, but one of the protesters interviewed by the media has said there has been no violence and that the building belongs to the people. However, reports say there is a standoff at the entrance to the Capitol. and that there has been a victim of gun shot. A photo shows one protester sitting on a chair which Vice president Mike Pence sat earlier during a proceeding to certify the electoral college votes.
It seems like these protesters have taken over the entrance to the capitol, while lawmakers have found their ways to safety. A photo shows some men in suit pointing guns at people across a window trying to get in.
The day has begun with a gathering of protesters near the White House. The gathering was addressed by one of the president's children and later by the president. While this development unfolded, words went round that Biden's election would be annulled and that that has made the information has fired up the protesters.
The crowd of protesters at the capitol is huge based on television news reports. There is a piece of news that some protesters have gained entrance and are inside the senate and the House of representatives' sides of the Congress. The police is standing firm at the entrance of the capitol and they are not allowing other protesters into the house.
Before today, there were information about eleven senators who had expressed their willingness to oppose the certification of the electoral college results for 10 days, to allow for investigation into alleged election fraud in some states.
