Temporary Truce in Gaza
25 July 2014 By Abi Giwa
After about 800 Palestinian and 36 Israeli deaths, Israel and Hamas have reached a 12-truce humanitarian window in Gaza, while effort is geared toward a seven-day ceasefire, news reports have revealed.
Israel had earlier rejected United States' Secretary of States' John Kerry's ceasefire proposal, but the secretary said he was still confident of a longer ceasefire.
At the same time, observers see the 12-hour truce as fragile, based on threats from both side of the conflict.
