Two blind men have been sentenced to six months in jail, in Nigeria, for sexual assaults. According to Punch newspapers report on Thursday, the two men assaulted two young boys! The offence was committed in December, 2016, according to the prosecutor Abdullahi Mayaki
Mayaki told Magistrate Hajiya Hauwa Yusuf that the blind men lured the two boys, 12 and 10 year old respectively, with N50.00 and N100.00, to gain their attention.
In this case, it is extremely difficult to determine, who actually may have committed the offence. Is it the blind men, who have no eyes to determine the sex of their victims or the victims who have eyes to see that the blind men cannot see and that they don't know that they the victims are male or female?
Understandably, the convicted accused are blind. But their being blind does not deprive them from having sexual feelings. Additionally. blindness does not and cannot take away a man's manhood. There are blind men helped by their wives in making the rounds to solicit for arms. But for blind men to sexually abuse young boys, and not grown men, but young boys, sound absurd.
Did the young boys collected the money from the blind men and gave themselves up to be assaulted or the blind men were able to see the young boys, solicited for sexual favor and offered them the money and the young boys accepted the offer to be abused?
Well, since the abused boys are minors and the blind men are grown men, the law has no choice than slam the grown into jail, blind or not.
