US Defies Khameini
24 June 2014 By Abi Giwa

On Sunday, Iraq' Ayatollah Ali Khameini stunned the world, when he expressed opposition to the United States' intervention in Iraq. He said that the US is seeking to to use the opportunity to turn the crisis in the country into a sectarian war.
On Monday, the United States' Secretary of State, John Kerry, traveling through Egypt to Iraq; arrives in Baghdad with "a promise of intense and sustained support" for Iraq against invading militias.
Already, President Barack Obama had said that the US will not put the boots down in Iraq against the invaders, and that the the number of US special forces going to Iraq will be playing advisory roles along other options yet undecided. Iraq had clearly sought for air support.
Hasn't Iran said it will welcome cooperation with the US to help Maliki out of the quagmire? Perhaps, Kerry is indirectly saying we will listen to Nour al-Malilki and not to Ayatollah Khameini, an Iranian.
