After Irma's Onslaught:Eight Deaths in Florida Home

"I am going to aggressively demand answers on how this tragic event took place. Although, the details of these reported deaths ares still under investigation, the situation is unfathomable. Every facility that is charged with caring for patients must take every action and precaution to keep their patients safe - especially patients that are in poor health," Governor Rick Scott of Florida said in a report by New York Times.
No one expected the development in the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills in Florida after Hurricane Irma's disappearance and people had heaved a sigh of relief.
First, reports said that 3 people died and three people were in the hospital in emergency. The number of the dead has risen to eight, meaning the three people earlier reported as in emergency had also died, addition to two people found dead, after the discovery of the first three deaths.
Understandably, Irma had caused the widespread power outage that affected the function of the air conditioning system in the center, giving way to excessive heat. The question here is why the lack of air condition in the center did not immediately lead to evacuation of the sick to other places to save their lives?
What effort did the home managers made toward evacuating the sick under their care, before Irma's arrival and after its departure? Did not anyone the insight that the home may require power back up or evacuation of patients in case of power failure or excessive heat with the lack of air condition in the center? Who are to be held responsible for these deaths of the sick and the vulnerable?
It is a difficult question to answer. The home has working air condition before Irma's landfall. The home became a victim of irma's blackout, but still managed to have power, except the power was not powerful enough to power the air conditioning system. The fans became inadequate with the rising heat that is peculiar with the Sunshine state, and the reason the air condition was desirable.
And the reason there ought to have been 24 hours watch over the patients, if they would not have to be evacuated. Knowing that the patients are vulnerable, unlike healthy people, who can absorb the hardship arising from excessive heat.
