January 6 2016 By Abiodun Giwa

Today, the Planned Parenthood emerged in the news as one organization that some members of the Congress say it is aiming to defund along with the repeal of the Obamacare. Is the planned Parenthood a government organization, a private organization or is it an just an organ of the Democratic Party? These are the questions that its mention for defunding in a bill by some members the Republican Party controlled Congress has raised.
A telephone to the Washington office of the Planned Parenthood for inquiry was not answered. It asked for a message to be left and promised to call back. The call to the Planned parenthood has bec0me very important to know whether it is a private organization, a government organization or a private organization or an arm of the Democratic Party.
The issue of repealing Obamacare and defunding the Planned Parenthood is not new. The two issues has metamorphosed into one with the arrival of the affordable care, otherwise called Obamacare.
One analyst on the television asks about how the defunding the Planned Parenthood will favor the Congress, when they know that American women's recognition of the organization as helping their health issues beyond abortions.
It is not the first time to hear that the Planned parenthood helps women's health and that apart from the abortion issue, it does some other things because all that many people have seen on the streets where the Planned Parenthood are located are placards that describe it as a place that babies are killed. And today, some members of Congress who appear with the Speaker Ryan say they have a video to show what they are saying about the Planned Parenthood to convince Americans about their position for their demand to defund the organization.
A visit to the organization's website shows that it lists abortion, birth control, morning after pills (emergency contraception) STDs, women's health and more health topic as part of the organization's areas of interest. The organization has "It cares, no matter what." as its motto.
"For nearly 100 years, Planned Parenthood has promoted a commonsense approach to women’s health and well-being, based on respect for each individual’s right to make informed, independent decisions about health, sex, and family planning. - See more at: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/about-us/who-we-are#sthash.pD5ESgw5.dpuf."
The question will still have to be answered that if the Planned parenthood isn't a government organization, should it be funded with the tax payers' money?
