Bloomberg's 'Stop and Frisk' Drowns

Stop and Frisk
"Come and see, come and see; come and see what the LAW hath done, come and
see what the LAW hath done," a guy sing as he enters his apartment.
"What hath the LAW done?" his room mate asked.
"The LAW has slapped Stop and Frisk, and Stop and Frisk is dazed. A court of law
has declared it unconstitutional and dumped it into the garbage can. And New
Yorkers are happy. I am happy that the law is supreme. Mayor Michael Bloomberg is
dazed too. You only need to hear his response to know what I am saying."
"What did Bloomberg say?"
"He vows to appeal the ruling and that people should not expect the system to change overnight. He does not
want to see people dying while he is still in office."
"Has Bloomberg no knowledge of Justice Earl Warren words that under a written constitution, no branch of the
government is supreme and it is the province and duty of the judicial department to determine in cases regularly
brought before it, whether the power of any branch of the government, and even those of the legislature in the
enactment of laws, have not , to treat the acts as null and void?"
"He is forcing on himself a role the constitution has not given him. He is a mayor who wants to be god. He is acting
like he is more knowledgeable than all New Yorkers put together. He wants to control what New Yorkers eat and
drink; when young women should have children and feels some New Yorkers constitute a higher percentage among
those who commit crime and anyone among people of that color can be stopped by the police and be frisked. The
court stopped his sugary drink law and now the stop and frisk has been added to the Bloomberg's administration's
acts of failure."
"The mayor's problem is that he thinks because he is a billionaire makes him an equivalent with Pharaoh and his
horse; and now like Pharaoh and his horse, the sugary drink and stop and frisk laws have been thrown and consumed
by the sea."
Although the police department is saying the stop and frisk helps its men take out guns that should not be on the
streets, the judge says it does not matter, the stop and frisk has given a bad impression about the city and it
has to be moderated with necessary oversight in place.
