Donald Trump, fellowship and the truth
December 11 2015 By Abiodun Giwa

Fellowship has already died among various segments of the society around the world before Trump's call for a drastic measure toward a revival. Radicals in the Moslem world don't like the western world. The murderous attacks against the western world are there to show for it. The western world don't like the attacks on them by the radical Moslems, and the vengeance wars on some parts of the Moslem world by the western countries in search of radical Moslems are there to show for it. And Moslems generally don't like the western countries' military presence in their countries and endless wars being fought in some of their countries.
Although, many Moslems have said continuously that Islam is not a violent religion, but many people in the western world are doubtful of what Moslems have been saying about their religion, because of the persistent and seemingly ceaseless attacks on innocent people by people who are not only seen as radical Moslems, but are domiciled in Islamic countries. If there is any love remaining between Moslems and their neighbors in the western countries, it is because many people hide their true feelings and would not want to do or say anything untoward that is capable of personalizing an issue believed as dangerous and beyond redemption. Peaceful Moslems know that they have already been silently stigmatized in most of the western countries.
Donald Trump was not the killer of the fellowship between the western world and the Arab world. The fellowship had died with Osama bin Laden's attack on the World Trade Center in New York City, subsequent attacks on western countries' around the world by people now called radical Moslems, and western countries' choice to revenge radical Moslems' attacks on them. Trump's statement about banning Moslems for a period of time, to allow discussions toward final and durable solution to the problem posed by attacks of radical Moslems on the United States and the vengeance that have followed are sorted, is primarily due to incessant attacks and suddenness of such attacks on the western world, as recently witnessed in Paris and California.
Obviously, Trump's statement has been misinterpreted by the liberal media in the United States. The liberal media Trump's has described Trump's statement as representing a total ban on Moslems from entering the country, instead of the truth that Trump has called for a temporary ban to allow discussions on what is actually happening between the Moslem world and America. The liberal media's restructuring of Trump's statement is of course political toward the battle of the general election between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. They even made the statement seems like American Moslems would be asked to leave the country. Whereas the ban suggested by Trump would not affect Moslems already living in America.
Before the Trump's Moslem ban bombshell, both the liberal and the conservative media were united about how Trump should exercise restraint in his choice of words as a politician in search of votes. How the liberal and the conservative media think that electioneering in the United States would continue to be on a structure in which politicians skirt around issues and never to say the truth to avoid hurting any section of the voting population, because of the need for votes is mind bungling. And the crime that Trump seemed to have committed was that he had not been skirting around issues to avoid what would make different voting blocks like the Latino, the Black and Moslems angry so that he could get their votes.
And some people are asking that if a presidential candidate is saying things in ways to not win voting population's votes, what is the media's problem about that? They ask why not allow the candidate to run a losing campaign and he or becomes the beneficiary of his or her own words? Of course, the fidgeting of certain Republicans against Trump and his statement has only helped to expose the game politicians play to get votes. And that is never to say the truth that will make the electorate question the truth of a political plan, but to say things that will endear them to the populace to get the votes to step into office, and whatever they do when they are in office as kings cannot be undone until after they leave office, when another set of politicians will return with sweet coated words to as for votes.
Is it any wonder that nothing ever changes other than the political actors? Voters are complaining of the society's stagnation politically and economically amid unending wars and attacks by radicals from nowhere claiming innocent peoples' lives. Now that only one person is saying things in ways different to what the electorate has known and his number in the polls shows that he is resonating with the public, the media and the establishment people are out to extinguish his aspiration. Some people have begun to wonder whether the Republican Party thinks that the liberal media's discordant tone against Trump is to enhance the party's triumph against the democratic Party. And the news that the party is considering jettisoning Trump in favor of whoever the liberal media is touting for the party to consider is anything, but a show of incapability to accommodate a silent political revolution.
If you read the criticisms against Trump's statement carefully between the lines, you will understand that the preoccupation of Trump's critics is how to win the next presidential elections and not how to resolve the continuous onslaught on the innocent people by the radical Moslems, or how to find a way to restore permanent fellowship between Moslems and other people, from whom they are being alienated, as a result of radical Moslems attacks on innocent people. But Trump is talking about the need and how to resolve issues careless whether he gets the votes or not. And the media is asking about how he is resonating with the people, despite what they describe as his bombastic statements.
Are Moslems too not tired of continuous suspicion and pointing of fingers at them anytime there is a terror attack? Wouldn't it be in their favor if a final solution can be found to put an end to the terror rubbish toward creating a ground of renewed fellowship between the western world and Moslems? Does it matter if such a solution will require temporary ban on Moslems coming into the country, which would not in anyway affect American Moslems in and out of the country? Shouldn't the Islamic countries be worried and be in dire need of a solution for their countries to stop being breeding ground for terrorists? The Republican party bigwigs' criticism of Trump can only be seen in the light of a wish to maintain the status quo and for fear of losing in the elections. They all talked about an American ideal, but failed to say whether the continuous killing by terrorists and not working to seek a durable solution, apart from endless wars of vengeance is part of this ideal.
