Government v. ASUU: Government Changes Ultimatum
4 December 2013 By Abiodun Giwa

The Nigerian government has changed the date in its ultimatum to the striking university lecturers to return to work December 9, as a respect for Professor Festus Iyayi's funeral, whose burial program begins on December 5.
It has also been reported that the government has deposited N200b into an account in the Central Bank for the infrastructural works in the nation's public universities as part of an agreement said to have been reached with ASUU in one of their several meetings.
But ASUU is reported as still not satisfied, and uncertain it will allow its members to return to work, based on utterances in the directives issues to its members, by some of its officials in published press interviews.
