Lesson from Biden's Pursuit of Shadow
6 January 2024 By Abiodun Kareem Giwa
Some people are afraid of competition. They will use all powers to scuttle the less powerful from overshadowing them. It is a common occurrence among politicians whose drive to rule and be served has torpedoed the Democratic culture. Collaboration to improve community has taken the back seat to a fight for supremacy. The United States is an excellent example of a community suffering when leaders haunt an opponent and abandon governance.
It is still fresh in mind how an outsider - Donald J. Trump - defeated Hillary Clinton, and a dam of trouble was let loose against him, messing up his four years in office with phony accusations and impeachments. Americans witnessed something reminiscent of boxers or wrestlers in a ring. It is astounding that he has a better performance record as a leader than his tormentors.
Curious observers' summation is that no one has troubled Trump's harassers but themselves. They leave the border open not because there are no patrol officers but because their job is no longer apprehending illegal immigrants but helping them enter. They become like security guards who only report what they see. The politician seeks fame, allowing people from other lands to enter without processing permission. And the wall to deter illegal entry was discontinued.
Gasoline and diesel prices climbed up. Government apologists said The XL oil pipeline shutdown was not the cause, government apologists said. Was Joseph Biden voted into office to stop everything with Trump's signature on it? Is that what a purposeful government is about? Biden's administration needs to work in tandem with acceptable norms in the public policy process - the continuity of policies that help the public.
Hyperinflation, nonexistent during Trump's years, became an order in Biden's White House. Ukraine war became the White House talking point as the cause of inflation when the public complained. Rather than tackle the border crisis, and whatever the actual cause of inflation, the administration has its objective of excessive pursuit of Trump to its detriment, like a body with no other way to win voters' hearts than to use its power to make Trump unpopular.
The government's media always has excuses for the misrule. It approves Trump haunting. The Liberal media believes Trump does not belong here and should not be allowed near the White House as if he is not an American with an American success story, describing Trump's supporters as extremists, making some people ask whether Trump is already a condemned criminal. The media does not see any reason to criticize the administration. Trump's act, right or wrong, is quickly under condemnation, regardless of the root cause.
Trump sought transparency in his defeat in an election and approved some of his supporters' choices to protest in Congress. The mishandling of security at Congress and the supporters' overrunning of Congress became an insurrection for which Trump must be responsible! The White House does no wrong unless occupied by Trump, and its media has forgotten there is always a day for accountability-based performance.
They planned to use their majority in the House to perfect the insurrection accusation to stop him when the ruling party had the House control without a judicial pronouncement of guilt. Jack Smith came into the center stage as special prosecutor, working feverishly towards judicial pronouncement to hold Trump guilty to go to jail before the next election, disregarding the judiciary's process of allowing an accused the time for defense.
Why the rush? Is it in the people's interest? Why is the prosecuting timetable targeted at removing Trump from circulation? Is it the fear of his triumphing over them? Should they not have handled the problem by being diligent with governance? The more the asylum seekers pouring from the Southern border become problematic, the more the White House and Department of Homeland Security seem nonexistent, making Americans wonder if there is a curse on the country.
The general election is less than one year away. Poll results have turned against Biden in Trump's favor. Many Democrats want Trump in jail before the election. Should that be their reliance? In seeming confirmation, Smith's office is reportedly running amok, still serving papers based on its timetable against a court's STAY order on an ongoing trial of whether Trump has immunity.
When Smith's office is not reported for overt performance to achieve the goal of stopping Trump, some Democratic Party bigwigs are busy trying to remove him from the ballot iin their states. Yet, some Liberal analysts say all this Trump targeting is playing in his favor. Can they stop Trump? Can they do it without showing care for the people's well-being?
The irony is that Trump's tormentors have left undone what they are supposed to do - work to improve people's welfare. Appreciative Inquiry, which, according to Frank J. Barret and Ronald E. Fry, is a positive approach to building a cooperative capacity, if undertaken to study border policies in the U.S., will reveal the fact open border policy is alien and control at the border serves a better purpose.
Serving the country's needs is more paramount than a conflict with an American who has guts, knows the rule of law, and has the means to pursue his rights under the law.
