"I will help him work towards the transition," Mr Jammeh said on state TV on Friday evening, after speaking to the president-elect by telephone, the BBC reported.

From reports on the Gambia election and Barrow's victory, there is a similarity between Barrow's vcitory and that of Donald Trump in the United States. Like Trump, Barrow never held public office.Barrow is also a property deveoper like Trump.
Just blike no one expected that Trump could have won an election against the Clinton Political Machine and how his own election victory against hillary Clinton and totality of the American star powers shocked him, no one expected that any challenger could unseat Jammeh in Gambia, having won reelection four times and Barrow has also expressed shock at his election victory.
The mighties or those considered as political timbers and jaugernauts are falling, and the humbled ones are rising. Barrow scored 45.5 percent in the eelctions against the incumbent's 36 percent. Mama Kandeh, a third party's representative got 17.8 percent.
