North Korea's Backward Dance
August 15 2017 By Abiodun Giwa
North Korea has changed its mind, news reports say on Tuesday. The country will no longer attack Guam - a satellite province of the United States. So much prominence is given to North Korea's change of mind or backward dance by the media, just like its earlier statement on unverifiable plans to take out out Guam.
Some people are still trusting wrongly that North Korea can still carry out an attack on Guam, despite its backtracking.
But anyone who has read North Korea's statement about its intent to attack Guam, on application of 'Reading and Analytical Technique', will see clearly that North Korea is just all mouth.
The statement has an 'if' and the order depends depend on Kim Jong Un's approval. But will Jong Un ever order a military attack on U.S. interest, knowing the repercussion of such an attack? Would not signing such an order to attack the U.S. be equal to signing his own death warrant and destruction of his country?
Jong Un is doubtlessly a young leader. But he has knowledge of recent history around the world. He knows about Panam Flight 103 and Lockerbie, and the link to Muammar Gaddafi. If he was too young at the time, at least, he would have been told about Gadaffi's sin against the U.S and the nemesis several years later.
If Jong Un can claim lack of knowledge of the Panam Flight 103 and the Lockerbie imbroglio, because he was still young at the time, he cannot claim ignorance of Osama bin Laden, the attack on the World Trade Center and the consequent killing of bin Laden and his burial ground as under the sea.
Saddam Hussein's case comes too close in similarity to the game of destruction that North Korea is currently playing. Jong Un must have heard about non-existent Iraq's weapon of mass destruction, how Hussein ended up in the spider's hole and the hangman's noose. Hussein did not test ballistic missiles, and he did not tell the whole world he had anything hidden, intended to use to attack the U.S. mainland.
Yet, because of Hussein's useless pride of not admitting that the U.S. is a more powerful and militarily beyond Iraq's capability, he ended up destroying himself and his country. The most painful scenario in Hussein and iraq's case is the pain that Hussein imposed of his own people from lack of insight and acceptable diplomatic tactics. Most people do think that the incessant testing of ballistic missiles by North Korea has gone beyond acceptable limit and beyond diplomatically acceptable norms..
Only Kong Un can explain what he is seeking for acquiring and testing so much missiles, and saying such missiles are capable of hitting the U.S. mainland, and analysts saying such missiles are tailored to reach U.S. mainland. But many people believe that no matter the amount of ballistic missiles in North Korea's arsenal, the country will be playing with fire, if it tries to attack the U.S, because people believe that the U.S. has missiles that are much more dangerous than whatever North Korea has.
Jong Un's aides talking about perfect a plan to attack Guam, but will require Jong Un's approval is like saying they going to ask him to sign his death warrant, if such order does not equal a warrant for North Korea's destruction. President Donald Trump said the truth concerning the fire and fury that North Korea will see in the event of an attack against the U.S.
And Jong Un may see his own aides as asking him to sign such order as a coup to get rid of him, in the event of of a military engagement with the u.S. And it is possible those aides are tired of life under Jong Un, and want to die together with Jong Un. But Jong Un does not look like someone who wants to die quickly, and leave the company of those beautiful women in uniform around him.
