On His Way Back To Ghana?
June 20 2017 By Abiodun Giwa

He said he was playing, but it could hardly be believed. He was either insane or out of his mind. The story is about a Ghanaian found guilty for claiming to be a terrorist and that he wanted to bomb the dormitory, where his girlfriend lived as a student at the University of Massachusetts.
Reports say that the accused, Abdul F. Ismail, agreed on Monday before a judge that he was guilty for threatening to commit a crime.
According to Ghanaweb's report, Ismail pleaded guilty at the Hampshire Court to escape jail term, and the presiding judge, Thomas Estes puts in conviction on hold for the next 12 calendar month and that the sentence will be quashed, if Ismail stays out of trouble.
But reading that report does not give any reason for comfort, since it is not certain whether Ismail is already on his back to Ghana on deportation or he will be allowed to remain in the United States. The report said that Ismail was taken into custody by the United States Customs and Immigration Enforcement, immediately after court proceedings, based on the words of Mary Carey, communication director for David Sullivan, Northwestern District Attorney.
Ismail is reported to have been in the U.S. since 2013 seeking asylum. His lawyer said that he is due to have his immigration case hearing for permanent resident next March, 2018. The office of the district attorney and the news report are silent on whether he is being processed to be returned to Ghana.
