Putin's Civilized Divorce
Published: 7 June 2013 By Abiodun Giwa
Lyudmila, divorced from President Vladimir Putin of Russia Thursday evening, described her divorce from the president as a 'civilized divorce', in a joint television appearance.
"I am very grateful to Vladimir that he still supports me. And the children, he really cares for them. And the children feel this," Lyudmila said. She said further that the two of them are always going to be very close. "I am sure, forever."
Spotting a black dress with bold white liner on the shoulders, white collars and a white scarf over a set of white beads round her neck, Lyudmila appeared perfect; her eyes into Vladimir's, in a seemingly show of affection, while Vladimir - not looking at her - raised his hands a little below the chest, making explanations.
They both said the divorce was a joint decision; agreeing that they hardly see each other and each has his own life.
Vladimir and Lyudmila were married for 30 years and blessed with daughters.
There are speculations of a lucky girl in the waiting.
Sal Dabegov, a Russian national working in New York was not aware his country's president had divorced and so were many others interviewed by the Global Pentorch.
One interviewee said Putin may never have time for marriage, because he has many works to give attention, almost an allusion to Lyudmila's words that Putin is always drowned in works.
