J Senegalese soldiers reportedly moved into Gambia on Thursday with an aim to send Yahya Jammeh packing with brutal force.
But the soldiers reportedly halt action to allow Jammeh till Friday to move out voluntarily..
Adamu Barrow has been sworn as the new president of Gambia in a ceremony in the country's embassy in Senegal.
Meanwhile, Barrow has told soldiers in Gambia to remain in the barracks, in a speech he made after he has taken the oath of office.
He is reported to have told the soldiers that whoever of them found on the street bearing arms would be declared as rebels.
Barrow start his rule from Senegal, where he remains after swearing in and jammeh remains in Gambia, refusing to abdicate, the only option open for him, after he has refused to allow peaceful transition, following his refusal to accept defeat in the country's presidential election, won by Barrow.
