I want to see a Nigeria where my children will have the best education they need to compete in a world with always changing technology. A Nigerian where poor parents would not be saddled with responsibilities for education and upkeep of adult children, mire than enough to sap them of enjoyment of life. I will like to see a Nigeria where the country invests in its young population for them develop enough sense of patriotism to country.
A Nigeria where a brother don't have to rely on a brother for survival; where love is natural and not depend on what we can get from each other. If I have my way I will take the responsibility of college education from the shoulders of poor parents and let young people bare the responsibility for their own education, with the rich continuing responsibility for their children's education, unless where the children choose to be independent and be responsible for themselves.
I believe that part of the continued cause or growth of corruption is the set up where a child after college is expected to rerun and be breadwinner for poor parents and siblings. When a child sponsored by poor parents through college returns, he or she is expected to appreciate the his parents investment and the only way to do this is by acquiring wealth at all cost. If a child's responsibility is paying back a college loan, taking care of self and help freely where he has capability without commitment based on parents investment, a sense of patriotism toward country that is there for the child through school will be developed than disregarding country and paying attention on how to amass wealth to satisfy society.
There is a time for everything under the sun, just as philosophy pays attention to birth, marriage and death as special three occasions in human life. Although people don't like to talk about death, but still people die everyday. Unlike birth and death, marriage is the only item people can choose to have at a time thy want, ceremony or no ceremony. A child has no power to choose where to be born and the family to belong, just as people have no power over the way or the day to die. Between birth and death, we go to school, where there is school, get married and enjoy life to the fullest, where the economy situation permits.
Some people believe in destiny, and others don't. Some people are careful about life, believing by being careful they can escape dangers, be safe and live long. But others don's care and believe whatever happens to a person is destined to happen. They believe the rich are rich and not because they are more knowledge than others, and that it is because they are destined to be rich. They give example of people who work and toil all their lives and never fall into riches. Some people are satisfied with their situation, while others are not. Those who are satisfied with their situation will give example of other less fortunate people as why they thank their stars for what they are.
