The year 2020 has not chosen to be a bad year if not for the circumstances that are beyond its control. The evil part of it is the passing of the same circumstances to humanity, and imperiling the human world. It is evil because something we do not know its cause, something we do not want, and desire, has been forced on us. Amid this imbroglio are the leaders who have assumed godly positions.
They claim to be saving lives or want to save lives, still lives are being lost, while the economy is left in a free fall. Many people are already asking the hell that is good the world that make these leaders think people can be pauperized and think and at the same time you are helping to keep them alive. Pauperize, keep alive, give them stimulus, and take the glory!
People are doubtlessly faced with two bad choices: Be allowed the freedom to go to work, have the income, get Covid-19 and die, or keep indoor, lose all that you have, become poor, and given stimulus. Many people will choose the latter and careless about freedom. Yet, many people will also choose the former because they will say that death will come when it will come - mimicking Williams Shakespeare in Julius Caesar. Already, many people are saying that there is nothing good in this world that justifies losing everything to stay alive.
And many people are saying the politicians who have suddenly become new 'Alphas and the Omegas' are not willing to keep people alive for the good of the people, but to create further avenue to remain in power. "But the Democratic governors aren’t just having a moment. There are signs they may be reshaping the party’s pipeline of prospective presidential candidates for years to come," Politico reported as early as April, because according to the report, the governors have seen that the poll number favor them. In an era that poll numbers have failed more than any other thing. If asked, many of those governors will say they are uncomfortable keeping people indoor against their will in a land of the free and home of the brave that America is known to be. Nonetheless, the governors have become autocratic and totalitarian by taking people's freedom away, damning their bravery, and creating a desolation, in which everyone seems to be crying, and the governors appearing to be dumb and deaf.
Women are crying that they have become victims of domestic violence arising from the lockdown occasioned by Covid-19. Children are crying for being locked away from school and forced to be home with broken parents who are more abusive than ever. Old people are crying of the danger of isolation. News reports have shown there is a double standard in the manner of the lockdown imposed by governors and some of the big officials have been caught after the lockdown embarking on enjoyment they have denied the people. People are consequently asking that better let everything be locked down!
The new world wants leaders who are kind and considerate, and don't seem tom know - unlike Robert Wilson in Ernest Hemingway's The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber, who seems to have known better when he said, "To govern one has to be cruel sometimes. Still, I have seen enough of their damn terrorism." And many are saying, "Let the hospitals be locked down. let the governors' offices be locked down. Let every one, including the governors and other elected officers, stay home and away from work for a specified number of weeks. And if no one will order this lockdown, let God reenact the flood of the days of Noah to force everyone home. Let the cruelty and terrorism go round without a respecter of governors and elected officers.
So the governors will know there is another power beyond their own power. People are just realizing there is a sense in living a short but happy life that is better than a long life in penury caused by idiotic lockdowns.
