Raphael Warnock (D-Georgia) has emerged a winner by defeating Kelly Loeffler (R-Georgia) in one of the runoff elections held in Georgia on Tuesday. He defeated his opponent by 50.6 to 49.4 percent of the votes. The second runoff election between Senator David Perdue of the (R-Georgia) Jon Ossoff (D-Georgia) is still led by Ossoff by 50.2 to 49.8 but still to be called with 99 percent of the votes counted.
Warnock's victory has brought the Democratic Party close to the realization of its ambition for the control of the senate with the Republican Party standing at 50 seats and the Democratic Party at 49 seats. The control of the senate may become even if Ossoff can pull off the second Georgia seat.
Ossoff has reportedly declared victory in the election with Perdue, but the Perdue campaign has quickly shot back that the election has not been concluded.
A recount may be ordered if Ossoff is unable able to move beyond his 50.2 percent of the votes. However, with Warnock's seat in the senate, the Democrats have their sleeves rolled up for the battle of the control of the senate, moving America to an experience that will remind people of the philosophical statement that nothing is permanent and that everything is continuously in a state of motion.
The current situation about Warnock's victory makes all the eyes turn to Georgia for the outcome of the remaining results in the runoff election between Perdue and Ossoff. Political observers are saying events in Georgia will affect the political situation in the country, because it will determine the control of the senate and the passage of bills that will either improve or mar the country.
