South Africa: Zuma's trouble not over yet
November 28 2016 By Abiodun Giwa
, A proposal for vote of no confidence has been table against President Jacob Zuma of South Africa by a member of the ANC. Against the backdrop of his survival of the ANC veterans' earlier position.
Meaning that Zuma's problem is not over yet, and that there may have been certain truth in the earlier reports that the ANC veterans sought to ask Zuma to step down, a move believed may have been killed before Zuma's meeting with veterans.
Two ministers - Aaron Motsoaledi, the health minister and Thulas Nxesi, the public works minister are reported by the BBC to have joined a proposal by one Mr. Derek Hanekom, the tourism minister and a member of the ANC, calling for vote of no confidence on Zuma.
With a call by Hanekom, members of the ANC, for the proposal of no confidence by Motsoaledi and Nxesi to be debated over corruption allegations against Zuma, concerning Zuma's involvement with the wealthy Gupta family, it is believed that Zuma's political future may be endangered, because of other past corruption charges.
Last week, GlobalPentorch did a story about how Zuma was reported to have developed a survival mode, when the ANC veterans reportedly sought a meeting with Zuma, to seek that he steps down from office. But that meeting turned out into a parley about the discussion of how to help the ANC grasp with the current problems facing it. The veterans said at the meeting that they never had an intention to ask Zuma to step down.
